World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade
Item upgrades allow players to increase the level of equippable weapons and armor. This improves the stats of that equipment, in addition to sometimes adding buffs or rolling an affix again.
It is important to note that even though you can upgrade magic and common equipment, it's generally not worth the cost. Rare and Unique equipment will quickly surpass modernized magic and common equipment.
Cost
When a player upgrades an item, they must spend Gold to do so. The cost of upgrading an item is dependent on its current level and upgrade type selected. Upgrades to weapons are generally cheaper than upgrades for armor because weapons have lower requirements. The amount of Gold required increases when the item is upgraded to an upper level.
The upgraded items will also have upgraded stats that will improve its performance in various ways. This could mean increasing its attack power critical strike chance, or damage per second. An upgraded item may also add additional benefits to the unit it is equipped with. These upgrades are able to boost the overall power of a group or a single unit, and could have a significant impact on the gameplay.
Items can be upgraded at any item upgrader NPC in the game. In general, these NPCs are located in capital cities or major questing locations. You can also find item-upgraders in dungeons that feature high-level bosses and talking to NPCs in the garrisons of your faction.
The World of Warcraft item upgrade system allows players to upgrade the level of their weapons, armor, and trinkets. The process is similar to that of gear reforging in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor, but instead of using the appropriate currency, players must visit an NPC to upgrade their items to complete the process.
Upgrades can be costly especially for armor and weapons. Based on the upgrade path each step up in item level can cost many Valorstones and crests. The costs can be prohibitive for players who do not have the resources or are unable to grind.
Fortunately, the game lets players roll an upgraded item using an additional tool available in the items menu. This option replaces the upgraded item with the level 1 version which offers different bonus effects. This is a great way to get better rolls on items that have already been upgraded. However, it could be a waste of time.
Requirements
Upgrading is the process of increasing the level of the items that are equippable like armor, weapons and trinkets. This increases their power and makes them more effective in combat. Players can upgrade gear by paying the appropriate currency at an item upgrader NPC. However, players should be aware that certain upgrades have special requirements.
Early upgrades only increase the stats of the item's base level. Later upgrades provide more significant increases. Upgrades from levels 3 to 6 will boost the weapon's damage plus two levels. A bonus stat will also be added to the upgraded item based on its level. The bonus consists of a guaranteed substat and random generated stats that can vary from upgrade to upgrade.
A player can reroll an upgraded item by using a Reroll Token to exchange the upgrade for a new one. The new item comes with distinct set of bonuses, and is of a lower item level. The rerolled item will have different requirements for strength and dexterity. It is important to remember that the item rerolled will not retain its level or have any wasted resources.
Rerolling upgraded items is only possible if the item was upgraded was an Epic, Rare or Unique. Extraordinary items are also eligible for rerolling, but their original stats will be replaced by a flat bonus. Rerolling an item that is Rare or Epic item will produce an ordinary version, while rerolling the Epic version will result in an elite version.
item upgrading upgraded item might include additional modifiers that can further increase its stats and enhance its performance. These additional modifiers are not included in the upgrade cost. You can buy them at the Trading Post, or through other players. They can also be earned by completing certain tasks in the game.
To upgrade a piece of equipment, visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. You will require Power Dices depending on the item. (Dice 6 can be dropped by monsters 21+, Giants and Bosses; Dice 12 is dropped by Bosses). You will also need various amounts of Minerals and Erons.
Time
Items upgrades can be used to increase the performance of your equipment and ship without having to level them. While upgrading isn't expensive, it is a good way to improve your performance without having to spend a lot of time fighting. It is important to understand the cost and benefits prior to investing your time or money.
Each upgrade increases an item's base stat by a certain amount, and also offers the chance for a bonus substat increase. The extra substat is a random, and can vary from a tiny increase in one stat to a much greater boost in another. It is recommended to concentrate on the best-in-slot items first, as they'll provide a greater return for your investment.
You can view the time required to complete an upgrade if you open your inventory and choose a weapon, ship or accessory. The upgrade window will display the expected completion date and progress. In certain cases, you may be in a position to speed the process by using a Glyph.

It is also possible to salvage certain or all upgrade components from an item using a special high-tier salvage kit sold by Black Lion Salvage and Ascended Salvage. This is not the case for legendary equipment or upgrades that can be recovered with an Upgrade extractor or by making a claim with the appropriate Karma merchant.
Take advantage of the benefits
The upgrading of items grants players money and a variety of items. In addition, every upgrade is able to provide a random extra stat bonus. The amount of bonus value is different for each upgrade, and is usually higher for rare items. Players can use a Great Vault search to see whether an item can be upgraded before spending tickets. The search can assist in determining whether the item is in a certain tier and whether the player could benefit from upgrading to a specific upgrade.
During the upgrade process, an item will gradually advance to its next level but it's not always able to reach a full upgrade bar. This process is based on Growthstones and Sollant but there is a 10% chance of getting an upgraded item within just one cycle. The more levels an item is upgraded to the higher its boosted stat value and the more items it is able to upgrade to.
Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, weapons, or armor to earn an attribute bonus, or an additional effect, when the equipment is worn. Some upgrade components also have cosmetic effects. Players can purchase upgrade item s by crafting, buying from vendors, or at the Trading Post, looting, or receiving as rewards. Players can also find upgraded items using an upgrade extractor or salvaging with a high-tier salvage kit. Glyphs placed on tools for gathering are able to be swapped.
By selecting the item and pressing the green button that has a rerolling arrow the player can reroll it to create an upgradeable item. This will alter the layout and allow players to choose up to six items to be used for "recycling". The item will be replaced with a level 1 item. Recycled items don't keep their current level or amount of resources used to upgrade them.
The maximum upgrade level of an item is determined by the item's tier as well as its quality. Rare items can be upgraded up to an maximum of level six, while Rare and Epic items can be upgraded up to level nine. The upgrades to items are added to the base stats of the item. This means that they won't increase in the future after a certain level.
