Cyberpunk 2077 Item Upgrading Guide
The upgrading of your item is an essential component to maximizing the potential of your gear. It lets you add additional stats to the base value of your item.
Each upgrade template has an array of options that can be changed by using the edition GUI. These options include the upgrade reference and the upgrading chance.
Upgrade components
As part of the 2.0 update the system for upgrading the armor and weapons in Cyberpunk has been reworked. Upgrade components can be found all over Night City, and the item you wish to upgrade must have an upgrade slot available. When you choose an item to upgrade it will show a preview of what the expected statistics will be after upgrading, along with the necessary component or item needed. If you don't have the necessary level of component or resource to upgrade the item, then the button will read "Blocked."
The items that can be upgraded include armor and weapons and trinkets and gathering tools. Upgrade slots can be filled on any item to give attribute bonuses or additional effects when the equipment is utilized. item upgrading are available through crafting, purchased from a vendor, or taken as a reward.
There are two types of upgrade components such as gems and universal upgrades. Universal upgrades which are similar to gemstones can be used in any kind of equipment and provide an inferior bonus than other upgrade components. They are easy to acquire by dropping them by enemies and looted all over the world. Gems however are gained by disassembling items or completing certain tasks.
Upgrades can be removed and replaced by new ones within the slot of the weapon. However it will destroy any prior upgrades. Other upgrades, excluding for glyphs that are added to gathering tools cannot be removed from an item once they have been placed. Infusions can be put into legendary or upgraded equipment. Enrichments are only obtainable using a high-end salvaging kit or an upgrade extractor.
Recycled Items
During the last two world wars, shortages of natural resources drove the world to embrace recycling.
