Path of Exile Item Upgrades
The performance of many Path of Exile items can be enhanced by upgrading them. They can cause additional damage, AD or even affixes.
Often times however upgraded Common and Magic gear is often surpassed by Rare-grade gear due to their higher requirements.
Armor
Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They boost the performance of the item they are connected to. Armor upgrades are available in the world of the game and are available from Blacksmiths on bonfires. Alternately, they can be salvaged from items that have upgrade components within them by using an expert or greater salvage kit.
The amount of damage a piece of armor or weapon can absorb depends on the level of its upgrades. Upgrading a piece of armor to its highest upgrade level will increase its ability to absorb damage. However, it's important to be aware that this upgrade will increase its weight, which will cause it to weigh more than it was before.
There are many different kinds of armor upgrades that are available in the game. Each one has a distinct impact. Some upgrades give armor an extra amount of health points while others make it more powerful and lighter. The type of armor upgrade that an item can receive will be identified by the name of the upgrade, as illustrated in the table below.
Some of the upgrades also require magic or a combination of technology and magic, as identified by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table. Certain upgrades also require fees to use. These are indicated as "Charges" entries in the table. The charges associated with these upgrades change daily or never expire according to the upgrade.
Iron Ore is the cheapest option to upgrade your armor. It can be found by exploring and looting small loot chests. Titanium is more expensive, however it is obtainable through smelters in Orgrimmar and Stormwind City. Certain upgrades, such as the Reforge or the Hot Potato Books can only be applied to high-level armor pieces. These upgrades can give a significant increases in stats and are well worth the cost.
The player must be aware, however, that upgrading a piece up to the maximum upgrade level will increase its defense values. However, it can also decrease its agility and speed. For item upgrades , it is generally not recommended to upgrade armor pieces that are higher than +9 since the added defense is generally not worth the weight and power costs of the upgrades needed.
Weapons
Weapon upgrades give players to enhance certain aspects of their weapon. Upgrades can improve the accuracy of a rifle, or the damage that shotgun shells do. Some weapons have special upgrades that enhance their inherent qualities. These include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and decreases the chance of weapon overheating) and Kinetic Coils (increases the speed of projectiles to cause more damage).
The majority of weapon upgrades require a whetblade. It's one of three Power Dices and a different amount Minerals and Erons. These can be obtained by doing side quests, or killing a certain amount of monsters or bosses or by contacting the Weapon Upgrade NPC in Central Flarine.
Upgrading a Weapon, Equipment Set piece, or Whetblade requires visiting the NPC [Armor] Boboko in Central Flarine and paying her an upgrade cost of a certain number of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the higher the number of bars you will need to complete the upgrade. The cost of upgrading will be lower if you have more than one of the relevant upgrade materials.
In Chapter 2: Season 5 the way you upgrade weapon and equipment sets has changed. Prior to Chapter 2: Season 5, you could upgrade your weapon or equipment by paying a specific number of Bars. You could do this until the weapon or equipment reached its maximum upgrade level and at that point, the upgrades would be reset.
It's possible, but it is dependent heavily on RNG. You're better off buying gear that has low upgrade levels, but high base scores and stat distributions. These items have a higher chance of granting you the highest level of benefits and blessings.
To improve item upgrading , players usually prioritize upgrading their weapons. In addition to these players, they should also consider upgrading the weapons they use with their squadmates to increase their power and effective. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R to make it more useful when paired with biotech specialists such as Grunt and Tali.
Jewels
Jewels are used in the sockets of armor and weapons, increasing a stat and providing secondary effects. They can be created using a process called jewelry crafting, which is where you combine a gem and a number of specific reagents at a jewelry table. The higher the level of the jewel the better the secondary effect. These reagents are available from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses in the world, or through collecting Legendary Gear. You can also purchase them from The Jeweler in exchange for Scattered Prisms and gold.
The quality of a gem can be improved upon by the Jeweler, in stages that range from Crude to Royal. Based on the tier of the gem it can provide different stat boosts when it is inserted into weapons, equipment and jewelry.
All tiers of jewels can be made at the Jeweler, with the exception of the rare and legendary gems that require you to be at a high enough level to be able to get these. Jewels can be replaced by another one without damaging the original. However, you can only replace the jewels in a piece of equipment once.
It is typical to use more jewels for aesthetic reasons. Jewels also enhance performance and make an outer layer that is more durable than steel, so that the repeated friction caused by pivots does not cause damage to the movement.
In addition to the above upgrades players can also acquire glyphs for their shields and weapons from a Glyphmaster. These provide a small bonus and can be swapped out at any time, but are not guaranteed to drop as loot. Glyphs can be upgraded, as jewelry, by visiting the Jeweler for gold, and also Scattered Crystal. Glyphs can also be taken out, which returns them to the inventory. Other upgrade components, such as traits and aegis, are not swappable, and can only be recovered using an Upgrade Extractor or salvaging them using Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool.
Trinkets
Trinkets are a great way to provide your hero with various small, but useful benefits. They can be obtained in the beginning areas as loot or personal story rewards from vendors, and by completing road interactions. They can be found on the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.
The first trinket a player can unlock is the cloak. It grants a small but beneficial boost in speed of movement and evasion. After that, they can purchase amulets, rings and necklaces in a similar way to how a player can acquire weapons and armor. Each piece of equipment comes with one upgrade slot that can accept either a universal upgrade or a jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades offer smaller bonuses and can be used in any type of equipment, while jewelry cannot be replaced or upgraded and only works with specific types of trinkets.
These trinkets grant additional buffs and abilities that are active when the hero isn't engaged in combat. This lets a hero be more efficient when they are not active. It can also make up for the lack of a excellent team or talent tree slots that are normally filled by the hero's best stats.
As try this web-site , trinket upgrades should prioritize BiS (Best in Slot) items that you aren't likely to replace in the near future. Then, you should consider any items that have desirable statistics aren't as significant as the iLevel for the item to be upgraded. This is especially true when an item has multiple stats that you'd like to upgrade as it's usually better to upgrade a single important stat rather than two sub-optimal ones.

Jungle players will often upgrade their yellow trinkets to a red one at the beginning of the game. Top and mid players, on the other hand, will choose a pink or green ward, based on the game's matchup. These choices will have a significant impact on the hero's ability to control his map.
In addition to the items listed above, players will find other trinkets that form trophies and rewards throughout the game. They can be earned by completing certain milestones within the story, for instance the main quest of a chapter or killing a certain boss. These achievements can be seen by selecting the appropriate achievement from the reward tab of the hero menu.
